I only just got out of hospital after a stroke and it feels like I’m now being lined up for a care home. It’s a bit worrying because before, when I stayed in for a heart problem, I got letters about private heart scans. I’ve definitely signed up to stop the NHS from sharing my data, but I’m not convinced they're actually respecting that.

What a load of rubbish about a care home! The girl on the phone seemed so innocent and nice. I just told her that I'd already told my family to let me go if I start losing my mind, then I hung up quick. Watch out for this caller - definitely dodgy!

I got two calls from them yesterday, both about how I wouldn’t need to put my house up for sale if I moved into care. I tried calling them back to figure out who they were, but the number didn’t show up at all. Not shocking - typical scam tactic. From what I’ve heard, these so-called “agents” show up at your place, snoop around to see what you own and figure out your routine, then sneak in later to rob or wreck the place while you’re not home. Absolute lowlifes.

Classic scam, trying to get you to pay around £5000 to put your house into a trust so you don’t have to pay care home fees. It's just like those hotel seminars promising the same thing. Any proper solicitor will explain there’s no way around it. I wasn’t falling for it and told her straight up I’m fine with paying my care home fees.
