Had a couple missed calls from this number and no voicemail left, then it rang again once I got in. Answered and it was a bloke who spoke really quickly, all I managed to catch was something about wanting to use my driveway for a display or show. Got a bit suspicious, asked where he was calling from, but he kept talking too fast and wouldn't answer when I asked again, just went quiet. Ended the chat saying, "I’ve no idea who you are, but we don’t have a driveway or anywhere to put one."

I received a call from someone purporting to represent National Driveways, suggesting that they could enhance my driveway. Quite amusingly, they seemed oblivious to the fact that I reside in a flat without any driveway whatsoever! Clearly, they were attempting to pull a fast one.

The number was unfamiliar to me, so I just let it ring out to voicemail. There was nothing left on the answerphone after that.

I got this automated message saying "You’ve been removed from the conference call" then it just cut off on me.

I wasnt home when I got a call on my landline, then later that same day there were like ten calls from a different number, 08456021111. We didnt pick up any of them and they didnt leave any voicemail either.

Got a call from 01302712609 about driveway sales, sounded fishy to me so i just hung up on em!

I got the call but it just went straight to voicemail and they didn’t leave me anything.

A chap claiming to be called John rang me up, supposedly from The Driveway Centre. He inquired whether there’s still a driveway at my place, to which I thought, "What on earth are you on about?" He went on to repeat his odd question, so I probed further, asking him which property he was referring to. At that point, he went all quiet, and I decided to end the call. Clearly, a scam of some sort, if you ask me!

Clearly a scammer, has anyone brought this to the attention of the authorities?

I received a call from someone claiming that I should enhance my water and drainage coverage from a basic third-party plan to a more comprehensive option. They assured me that if I did, an engineer would be dispatched to my home within 24 hours if any issues arose.

I received a rather curious call from an individual identifying himself as John, supposedly representing The Driveway Centre, which he claimed operates out of Southampton but has a Doncaster number-strike one for credibility! He mentioned that their records show I possess a driveway and asked me to verify that, but I politely declined. John indicated they specialise in resin driveways and boasted about some promotion related to a magazine-whatever that entails. Strangely, when I inquired about the specific person they were trying to reach, he couldn't provide a name and insisted that his manager would address my queries when they returned my call. Interestingly, when pressed about whether they had a website, he deflected again, saying the manager would have all the answers. He also mentioned he was the new recruit, yet I couldn't shake the feeling I recognised that voice from a similar unsolicited call just a few weeks back. As for Action Fraud, they are utterly ineffective. Their site lacks an appropriate option for reporting such bothersome calls, and when you try to navigate their ‘I can’t find a relevant option’ link, you’re bombarded with a barrage of irrelevant and unnecessary questions-far more than needed for a report. They even seem to insist on you divulging a trove of personal information, which you can in fact choose to ignore. I decided to ring the number back (my number was withheld, mind you). Initially, I was greeted by John's recorded voice again, giving me options to either be removed from their list (option 1) or connect with someone (option 2). Once I chose to connect, I was met by a lady named Rose. She didn’t reveal her company number, instead directing me to a website: www.filitastica.com. Rose initially claimed to hold the highest position in the firm, but when I suggested that surely there must be higher-ups like directors, she backtracked and mentioned that her supervisor was unavailable. When I pointed out that, as a responsible company, they ought to refrain from contacting numbers registered with the Telephone Preference Service (which ours is), she took umbrage and abruptly ended the call. Quite the experience!

Got a voicemail from someone saying they were John at the Driveway Centre. When I tried to give any answer other than a simple 'yes' or 'no', the call just dropped. Bit weird, if you ask me.

I didn’t get any voicemail after they rang. Seeing what others have said, I’m going to block this number.

I picked up the phone but it just went straight to voicemail, no message was left though.

I got a call from a nice sounding young guy asking about my driveway. I wasn’t interested, told him thanks but no thanks, then ended the call. Didn’t ask for it at all and wasn’t pleased.

They keep ringing me non stop, but never leave a message. It's really annoying!

I got this number from someone pretending to be Nationwide who told me to call back on it, so I rang Nationwide customer service to check. They confirmed this is a legit number. Just a heads up though, getting a call from a number doesn’t always mean it’s actually theirs. Watch out for scams where they keep the line open so you think you’re ringing a proper number.

Got a call from this bloke John on 01302712609, trying to pitch a discounted driveway deal supposedly for a show driveway. Bit odd, cause firstly, we’re DBS checked, and secondly, the council actually owns our driveway. He was pretty polite about it, said thanks and hung up. Thought I’d share in case anyone else gets the same call!

Marketing driveway installations!

Just received a call without any sound on the other end, and it looks like we’re seeing that driveway con artist tactic rearing its ugly head again, as noted by others. This is the third different number I've encountered this week linked to this particular ruse. Honestly, I don’t even own a driveway!

Received my second call this morning, and as soon as my voicemail started, the call just cut off. I’m beginning to think it’s some dodgy scam. If they were genuinely trying to reach me, they would have left a message, right? Definitely not going to bother returning their call.

I’ve been hearing an array of peculiar sounds that are quite unsettling.

Likely a scam - the caller mentioned something about my driveway, but I don't even have one! I informed him he’d got the wrong number, and just like that, the call was cut off. This was in Hull.

Received a dodgy call from someone sporting a thick southern accent. He rattled on about something to do with show home driveways and discounts, then bizarrely inquired how long we’ve had our driveway - a rather peculiar way to kick off a sales pitch, if you ask me. When I pressed him for more details, he abruptly ended the call. Quite the strange encounter!
