Had a couple missed calls from this number and no voicemail left, then it rang again once I got in. Answered and it was a bloke who spoke really quickly, all I managed to catch was something about wanting to use my driveway for a display or show. Got a bit suspicious, asked where he was calling from, but he kept talking too fast and wouldn't answer when I asked again, just went quiet. Ended the chat saying, "I’ve no idea who you are, but we don’t have a driveway or anywhere to put one."

I received a call from someone purporting to represent National Driveways, suggesting that they could enhance my driveway. Quite amusingly, they seemed oblivious to the fact that I reside in a flat without any driveway whatsoever! Clearly, they were attempting to pull a fast one.

Honestly, it’s no wonder your caller ID doesn't recognise the number, since it’s from a block of numbers that’s been assigned for such calls. Typical, isn’t it? 🙄

Had a call from a guy called John, said he was with the Driveway Company. I still got a driveway at my place, so his voice was pretty recognisable. He sounded proper polite too. Then there’s this Chris bloke from some energy insulation firm who rings sometimes. Told John straight out he’s a scammer and just ended the call.

Got a call from 01302712609 and the bloke was chatting really fast, like he didn’t want me to get a word in. Kept saying something about a “driveway” but it was all a bit vague. I finally cut in with “do I know you?” and he just went quiet. I asked again and then he just hung up on me. I’ve already signed up to block these random calls. Pretty sure it was a scam.

I got a call saying I should switch my water and drain cover from third party to a more premium plan. They said that way if any issues popped up, I could have an engineer out to me within 24 hours.

I got a call from someone named John claiming to be with The Driveway Centre, supposedly based in Southampton but working all over the UK. Oddly enough, the number he called from had a Doncaster area code, which was a bit strange. He insisted their records showed I had a driveway, which I don’t. John said they offered resin driveway installations and mentioned some kind of promotion linked to a magazine. When I asked who exactly he wanted to speak to, he couldn’t say and told me their manager would call back to answer any questions. I tried to find out if they had a website, but again he told me only the manager could provide that info when they rang back. John claimed he was new to the role, but the voice sounded really familiar - like from a call I got a few weeks ago. I even tried reporting it to Action Fraud, but their site was pretty useless for this sort of scam call. They didn’t have a category that matched, and the questions they asked felt way over the top for what’s needed to report this kind of nuisance. Plus they made it feel like you had to give loads of personal details even if you don’t want to. I rang the number back, keeping my number hidden. I first got a recorded message (which sounded like John) offering an option to opt out (press 1) or talk to someone (press 2). Choosing to speak to someone put me through to a person called Rose. She refused to give a direct phone number for the company but gave me a website: www.filitastica.com. Rose initially said she was the highest-up person around but then changed her tune saying her supervisor wasn’t free when I mentioned there should be directors or senior managers. When I pointed out that if Filitastica was legit, they wouldn’t be contacting people on the Telephone Preference Service (ours is registered), Rose got all defensive and ended the call.

Got a voicemail from someone saying they were John at the Driveway Centre. When I tried to give any answer other than a simple 'yes' or 'no', the call just dropped. Bit weird, if you ask me.

Got a call from 01302 712609, some bloke claiming they’re offering resin driveway deals nearby. I told him my driveway’s got proper holes, and you can actually see the water pipes beneath, so it’d need fixing before any resin could go down. He just brushed it off and said they’d simply put the resin over the holes! Sounds like a total rip-off to me. I’ve blocked the number now.

Just a heads up though, getting a call from a number doesn’t always mean it’s actually theirs. Watch out for scams where they keep the line open so you think you’re ringing a proper number.

Got a call from this bloke John on 01302712609, trying to pitch a discounted driveway deal supposedly for a show driveway. Bit odd, cause firstly, we’re DBS checked, and secondly, the council actually owns our driveway. He was pretty polite about it, said thanks and hung up.
