It claims to be from Doncaster, yet I don’t have any acquaintances in that area. I keep receiving calls on my mobile from this particular number, every few weeks like clockwork, along with others like 01782436400 and 01454601143. Today, out of curiosity, I called them back using 141 to mask my landline number. I was greeted by an automated voice stating, “Hello, this is ACA. We apologise, but all our agents are currently occupied due to a surge in calls. Our business hours are Monday to Thursday from 11am to 7pm, and Friday 10am to 6pm.” I promptly ended the call after that. Interestingly, all three of these numbers play the same recorded message and identify themselves as ACA. I once picked up thinking it was my sister calling from Stoke when they used the 01782 number. Now, they incessantly ring me about PPI claims, despite the fact I’ve never had any involvement with that. They don’t even bother to verify who they’re speaking with; they keep addressing me by someone else’s name and don’t allow me to explain that they’ve got the wrong person. It’s quite clear this is a PPI scam operating under various phone numbers to throw people off.
