I keep getting calls to my mobile every few weeks from this number, plus two others: 01782436400 and 01454601143. Today, I rang back using 141 to hide my landline, and this automated message came on saying something like, “Hello, this is ACA. Sorry we can’t take your call right now due to high call volumes. Our hours are Monday to Thursday 11-7, and Fridays 10-6.” I dropped the call after that. All three numbers have the exact same message, and they all introduce themselves as ACA. Once, I thought the 01782 call was from my sister in Stoke so I answered, but it wasn’t her. Now they’re harassing me about PPI, which I never even had! They don’t even bother asking who they’re speaking to and keep calling me by someone else’s name, not letting me explain that they’ve got the wrong person. Sounds like a typical PPI scam using multiple numbers to dodge being traced.
