Got a call about some feedback on a chat they claimed we'd had about joint pain. Never had a prior call though, not even a date mentioned. When I asked him to remove our details from his list, he got a bit stroppy. The guy said his name was Roy and insisted he was from Glossop Wellbeing Centre - which doesn’t actually exist anywhere!

I got a call from some guy about wellness stuff, trying to sell me aloe vera tablets for arthritis or something. I asked him to send me the details in the post but he got really annoyed. Honestly, why do these folks think it's okay to pester me when I'm 82? Luckily, I had the guts to tell him off proper.

Got a ring from someone claiming to be from a Senior Citizens group or something like that (the exact name slips my mind), asking for some feedback. When I asked where they were located, the person replied, "London, darling." I mentioned their info was wrong since they were asking for Mr Mutch, but she corrected herself saying she wanted Mrs Alison Mutch (which is the right name). I told them I wasn’t interested and hung up. Tried calling back after checking with 1471, but the number came up as ‘unknown’.

Somebody rang me saying they were from Senior Citizens Health Advice, asking about how I was feeling. They sounded polite enough but it really wasn’t their concern, so I cut the call short. Feels like it was probably a sales pitch or maybe even a scam.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with the Well Being Centre, which made me assume it was connected with the NHS. They asked loads of health-related questions, and I nearly got taken in, thinking it was NHS-related, until they brought up the price and asked for my card info. Be careful, don’t get caught out like I almost did!

Had calls from this number twice now, once yesterday and once earlier today. On the second call, call guardian flagged it as someone named “Ellie.” They seemed to be going after elderly folks under the guise of offering some service, which is really awful. The callers tried to come across like a NHS or GP office but got dodgy and unclear when I asked who they actually were. Felt like they were just trying to get personal details. When I mentioned I was on heart medication but couldn’t recall the names, he then asked what mattered most to me. I told him I just hoped my grandson would do his homework, but he didn’t seem to like that answer and quickly ended the call. I’ve since blocked the number.

I got a call from someone saying they were from a Wellness centre, mentioning a chat we supposedly had last year about my joint issues. Since I do get joint pain now and then and did visit my doctor about it last year, it seemed believable at first. But then the person went on about me taking painkillers regularly - which isn’t true - and got pretty pushy. That’s when I decided to just end the call.

To be fair, given my age, joint issues do occasionally flare up, and I did have a consultation with my doctor about it last year, so it did seem somewhat believable. However, then the caller began to pressure me, asserting that I was frequently using pain relief medication - which I am not - and his persistence became rather off-putting. I decided it was best to terminate the call at that juncture.

Some bloke named Geoffrey keeps ringing me up. I've tried blocking his number but it doesn't stop him. He says he's from a medical company, not the NHS though. Today, instead of hanging up on him straight away, he cracked a joke and said, "Looks like you haven’t lost the plot then." Quite cheeky, that one.
