This one’s a classic for sure. I usually say something like, “Cheers for ringing, can I get back to you in just a moment?” then I put it down, wait around 10-20 seconds, come back and say, “Please hold the line, your scam call is really important to us and someone will be with you shortly.” After that, I just leave the phone alone and walk off until they eventually hang up.

i usually say yes, i was in a crash that wasn’t my mistake, right where the road twists crazy sharp. i tell them it was so bad it actually chopped my head off. then i try to file a personal injury claim to get surgery to put my head on a brand new, fitter body since the old one was getting kinda saggy. not shockingly, they just hang up straight away.

Someone called me about a supposed cash payout from a made-up crash. I’m not sure if they are working for some dodgy claims firm or what, but they never mentioned needing money upfront or asked for my bank details. I didn’t stick around long enough to get the full story. I guess if even a few people a week fall for it, it pays for their call centre staff alright.

I just got a ring from some supposed firm named p### asking me to confirm if i’d been in a car crash. When i asked where they’d got my phone number, the bloke said it came from some “road traffic accident department” that apparently any firm in the UK can reach out to. But when i tried to get more details, he just cut me off straight away!

Got a robocall claiming to be from some company called “luna” or something, saying I was involved in an accident. Totally fake, just hang up. If they ring you, tell them to remove your number from their list ASAP.
