Got called a couple times this morning, I was expecting a call so I answered both. But every time I said hello, it just went quiet and no one spoke!

Received a rather peculiar call, stating that my national insurance had been halted owing to suspicious activity. It was an automated voice that instructed me to press 1 for further assistance. When I finally connected, a woman with a gentle Indian accent came on the line, requesting my name and address. I stopped her right there, saying, “No, you’re the one who called me, so out with it.” She promptly disconnected. Quite the inconvenience that was!

Got a call from a robotic voice claiming my NI number was under some kind of criminal probe. It’s not true at all. I actually have regular DBS checks because of my job. Definitely a scam trying to freak me out.
