Got a ring from this number not long ago. The caller claimed to be from Vodafone, offering me a phone contract at £40 a month with a new handset. I told them I actually work at Vodafone and I’d check with my team whether theyd made this call. Turns out Vodafone never got in touch, so I’m sure this is a scam. Just a warning to stay alert, folks.

Looks like a possible scam. I didn't pick up since other reviews for this number warn about scams. They didn't leave any voicemail either.

I'm having a bit of a tough time grasping what this individual is saying-there's a definite accent there. They tend to abruptly put the phone down whenever I request them to clarify or say it again. Quite frustrating!

Got a missed call from a number I didn’t recognise, but I did recently apply for a government loan. Not sure if it’s legit or not, ‘cause I get loads of scam calls all the time. I usually call them out on it, and sometimes they pretend not to be scammers or try to keep talking, but when I don’t answer any of their questions, it’s either them hanging up or me ending the call.

Woman with an Indian accent rang, saying she was from O2. She claimed that since I'm a loyal customer who always pays bills promptly, they wanted to give me a discount. She wanted to know how much my bill usually was. I answered I had no idea. Then she asked what phone I use, I said dunno and hung up. This definitely isn’t O2, so don’t give them any info at all.

Someone kept pestering me to upgrade my phone and sim, kept pushing me to tell them how much I spend on both each month.

I got a call supposedly from my phone company saying I had a discount. They wanted me to confirm my current bill and said it’d be cheaper from January. Then they asked for my address and full name. When they wanted my email, I said I prefer postal mail. After that, they pushed for my bank details. I said if they read them out, I'd check, but they wouldn’t agree and just kept pressuring for info. Then they just ended the call. Definitely don’t trust them.

Got a call from a woman who said she was with Vodafone and could help me cut 40% off my bill. I told her I wasn’t even a Vodafone customer, but she insisted I was. When I said it seemed dodgy, she snapped back with "No, it’s not!" and hung up straight away. The weird bit? It showed up on my work phone, which is actually with EE...

Showed up as a Lyme Regis number, so seemed like a local call. These days I just ignore calls if I don’t recognise the number straight away! Fed up with all the spam and dodgy callers. Would be great if there was a way to block them for good.

Didn’t know the number so I just let it ring. Decided to check it out here first before calling back, and glad I did.

Ringin’ back to random unknown numbers is just plain daft. Only folks who haven’t got a clue or are really gullible would even think about doing it. It might be some version of that old wangiri scam thing. Plus, scammers churn out millions of fake numbers automatically, and sometimes by pure chance those numbers are actually real and belong to innocent people who end up stressed out. Or worse, you might end up chatting to an actual proper criminal. Just remember, not every unknown call without a message is a scam. Most probably are, but a tiny few might be something sensitive or private.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming to be Adam from 3 mobile. Thing is, I don't even use 3 as my network. As soon as I told him that 'Adam' sounds a bit too English for someone with that accent, he hung up quick. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.

They tried ringing me but I’ve got block unknown callers switched on my iPhone, so when I phoned back it just didn’t connect - pretty sure it’s a scam. If you’ve got an iPhone, I’d really recommend turning on that block unknown callers option. It sends sketchy calls straight to voicemail, and legit companies usually leave a message, giving you the chance to call them back and check if it’s genuine.
