10 yearsGot loads of calls from this number, 3 times yesterday and another couple from a number that’s almost the same today, same area code too. They say they’re with BT, but if you answer and stay quiet, they just drop the call. They really don’t give up though and keep ringing back. I spoke with BT about it and unfortunately, there isn’t much they can do to help.BT10 yearsI got a call from 01296651176 saying they were from BT and that my router was sending signals about viruses. A few weeks ago, I had a similar call from 02075676666; this time the caller claimed to be Microsoft and wanted to access my computer remotely. Pretty obvious scam. I reported both to Action Fraud and BT. I even rang Microsoft to check and they told me they never contact customers like that, which Action Fraud agreed with. Feels like these scammers aren’t based in the UK at all.BTMicrosoftAction FraudUK10 yearsGot a call from 01296651176, they said they were from BT and tried to convince me to join some programme. Next thing I knew, they wanted to control my computer remotely and asked for my bank info. Seems dodgy to me, defo a scam.BT10 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were from BT, saying there was an issue with our router and they needed to come and fix it. I told them we don’t actually use BT, so they asked who our provider was. When I said it, they claimed to be from that company instead. Definitely felt like a scam to me.BT10 yearsI got a call from a number where the person said it was BT, saying there was an issue with my internet router. I said everything was fine on my end but if they wanted, they could send a new router over. After that, the caller just ended the call. Feels like a scam to me.Submit Your Own Report (01296 651176)
