He told me there was some dodgy stuff going on with my name and NI number. Complete scam! They claimed to be calling “from the warranty team”. When I asked more, they said they were renewing the warranty on my washing machine because it was about to run out……. which is ridiculous as I bought it over 8 years ago, so that’s long gone! The person on the line claimed it was about my washer warranty, but after I told them they were scammers, I asked what brand and model I had. They got it totally wrong. I told them off and then slammed the phone down.

Someone rang saying they were from Go Compare insurance, asking me to verify my address. I just ended the call straight away - classic scam. I never give them any info. Normally, I try to keep them chatting to eat up their time, so they phone fewer folks. Every bit counts, I guess! But today I was in a rush and couldn’t bother. It’s ridiculous how phone companies don’t block these calls, it’s awful what these crooks are doing, stealing from people who can’t afford it.

Got a call from this number on my home phone. It was a woman with an Indian accent claiming she was calling from Virgin Media about our internet and broadband. I told her nicely I wasn’t interested and would pass, and she just started laughing! So I ended the call. Seems like a scam to me. Watch out, folks.

This morning we got a ring from a guy with an Asian accent. He said he had a deal to save us £5000 on a life insurance policy. When I asked how he got our phone number, he just said it was in their database. We told him to take our details off that list and warned that if he called again we’d report the number. I got a call from someone trying to sell me an extended warranty for my washing machine, saying my current cover had expired. When I asked for proof and mentioned I'd prefer to talk to a manager, they quickly lost interest since I wasn’t falling for it. I told them to stop bothering me and put the phone down. She wanted my bank details to transfer the money straight away. That’s when I started getting suspicious. I asked if she could just post me a cheque instead, but she said no. She kept pushing really hard. I’m absolutely certain it’s a scam because my husband died a while ago, and he never bought any warranty for our appliances. She said she’d send a confirmation letter in three days but no letter ever came. This number has rung me up four times now. Each time they ask for my husband, and when I tell them he's passed, they just hang up. Total scam! Avoid these calls!
