I got a call from 01294 774654 claiming to be from Openreach. The guy knew my name and asked about the number of flashing lights on my router. His accent seemed Indian. He got pretty rude, shouting at me when I questioned him. I told him to tell me his name and he said David Smith. I didn’t buy it and told him straight-up it was a lie. He just laughed and kept asking if I had a laptop. They've phoned me about three times now. I’m worried that folks who are more vulnerable might end up handing over cash or letting them into their computers. It’s really worrying.

Got a call from someone claiming they were with BT Openreach saying there was an issue with my broadband router. They asked me to download this teamplayer[###] thing so they could remotely access all of my devices like my tablets, computer and wifi. I tried ringing the number back but it was fake, definitely a spoof - the number doesn’t even show up anywhere. Sounded just like those scammers from India who used to ring pretending to be from TalkTalk, which I stopped using ages ago, like two years back.
