I’ve flagged it to Ofcom, but I reckon it might be coming from overseas, pretending they’re with TPS or summat!

Could it have been Rab or maybe Jimmy, or one of the other lads from Jocks ringing me ? Not a clue, really. No voicemail was left, but the funny thing is, they even covered the cost of the call. Strange one.

A man with an Asian accent rang me claiming to be calling from the Telephone Preference Service. He asked if I've been bothered by any telemarketers or annoying calls. I said, "You're the only one causing trouble until now," and then he just ended the call.

Like a few others here, I've been getting calls from an Asian call centre pretending to be the TPS. They already had my name and address connected to my phone number, which makes me think there’s been a security breach somewhere, or my details are sitting in some easily accessible database. The calls have been coming non-stop all afternoon, really annoying.

Like loads of others, got calls from an Asian call centre saying they were from TPS. They already had my name and address matched with my phone number, so I reckon there's some security breach somewhere or my details are just on some easily accessed list. Been getting the same calls over and over all afternoon.

Some bloke called me, all polite and asking if I was Mrs.. I didn’t really answer him and just asked what he wanted. He said he needed some information from me, but I didn’t fancy it and just ended the call.

Got loads of calls all afternoon from some Asian call centre pretending to be the TPS. They've somehow already matched my number with my name and address, so clearly there's been a leak somewhere or my info is on one of those easy-to-get databases. Proper annoying how they keep ringing non-stop.

Back again. The last caller was quite polite, but this time it was a bloke with a strong Asian accent that was hard to understand. He was trying to tell me my nuisance call blocking service was about to run out and asked if I settled phone bills with cash or direct debit. I told him cash, and then he passed me on to a guy called Mark, who also sounded Asian. Mark wanted me to look at the expiry date on my debit card?? What on earth has that got to do with paying by cash? They already knew my name and address and seemed to be fishing for my bank info. Watch out for this one.

This number rang me three times earlier today. I picked up on the third try. The caller had an Asian accent, like before. As soon as he started speaking, I blew a whistle right into the phone! Honestly, it'd be good to have a whistle nearby, but be careful not to put the phone to your ear when you blow it or you'll end up with ringing ears too.

Got a call from a woman named Grace, sounds like she might be Asian, asking for me. When I asked her who she was, she said she was from TPS. She wanted to know if I was the householder with the name she mentioned. I told her no, just made up a story even though she insisted it was urgent to speak to me. As soon as I said I wasn’t there, she hung up. Shame really, must be terrible people pushed into doing crap like this. The number looked like it was a UK one, which is odd. I’ve sent an email to TPS about it.

I got a call from someone called "Rachel" claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service, said they’d help stop annoying calls if I was younger than 85! The lady spoke with a strong Asian accent and sounded like she was just reading a script, with loads of racket in the background like a scam factory. This is the one and only pest call I’ve had all year, thankfully.

Got a call from a lady speaking with a South Asian accent, saying she was from TPS. The number seemed like it was from the UK, but I noticed some lag and clicking noises when I answered, which made me suspect it was an international call. I ended up just hanging up. Decided to look up the number and found loads of people had similar calls. Watch out, it’s probably a scam!

PROPER ANNOYING - WOULDN'T LET ME GET A WORD IN EDGEWAYS --- A WOMAN WITH A SHOCKING ACCENT CLAIMING TO BE FROM AYR, SCOTLAND, BUT NO CHANCE THIS WAS TRUE --- I’VE NO IDEA WHY THESE LOT KEEP RINGING, IT’S LIKE THEY’RE TRYING TO DRIVE YOU MAD. REALLY THINK THEY SHOULD BE LOCKED UP OR PUNISHED FOR THIS. WISH I COULD RING THEM BACK AND TELL THEM OFF PROPERLY. WHY DOESN’T THE GOVERNMENT STEP IN TO STOP THESE SCAMMERS? THEY’RE NOTHING BUT CROOKS AND CON ARTISTS. LAST TIME THEY RANG I REPORTED IT TO BT BUT THAT WENT NOWHERE. OH WELL, GUESS THAT’S JUST HOW IT GOES THESE DAYS.

I got a call from a bloke with an accent who said his name was Dave and claimed to be from the Telephone Preference Service. He kept speaking over me and demanded I confirm my debit card’s expiry date to prove I was the one paying for the phone line. He insisted I should just listen to him, so I just ended the call. They’ve called me three times today, and I only picked up on the third ring. He also kept going on about following DPA rules - I tried to tell him that GDPR’s what matters now since it started in May, but he wouldn’t hear it.

I've had calls from this number loads lately. Yesterday alone, they rang me five times, and today they've already called four times. It was a man with an Asian accent asking for me by my name. When I told him he was breaking the rules with an unsolicited call, he just hung up. But since then, I've gotten three more calls where no one speaks on the other end. Pretty annoying.

This number has rung me loads of times claiming to be from some telephone preference service. They ask for your name, address and even your credit card expiry date! I called them out on it a couple of times and now they just ring and drop the call straight away. Proper nuisance. Told them flat out they were dodgy and trying to scam my info. The bloke kept going on about data protection, but eventually he hung up. Still, they keep pestering me.

Got a call from a supposed British number but sounded like some call centre abroad. They went on about the telephone preference service, but when I asked where they were calling from, they just acted like they couldn’t hear me and then cut me off. The real TPS is meant to be free, so why are they trying to make you pay? Doesn’t add up at all.

There was a quiet moment, then a voice came through, sounding like it was from some Indian call centre. Weirdly, he was aware of my last name. The call was about these annoying unsolicited phone calls. I'm a bit concerned this could be another sneaky effort from someone claiming to be with Barclaycard trying to fish for my personal info, based on the stories shared here. So, I just ended the call.

Someone calling from 01292787021 kept ringing up trying to scam us out of personal info and card details, saying they were from the Telephone Preference Service. When we told them to leave us alone, they just wouldn’t quit and kept phoning every half hour. It’s obvious these aren’t just scammers, they actually seem to get a kick out of pestering people.
