Someone rang me up claiming to work for some sort of fraud investigation team. They wanted to know if I’d recently been caught up in any scam or dodgy dealings. When they asked if I’d got any Bitcoin or crypto currency, I just said no. Then they started poking about where my money comes from, which I wasn’t having, so I told them it was none of their concern and hung up straight away.

I usually just ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise. If it’s important, they’ll drop a voicemail, right? I like to check the number first before deciding to pick up.

I asked them straight up where they found my phone number. They just kept replying with, "Where do you reckon we got your number from?" I told them, "I'm actually the one asking you, so what's the source of this number then?" But they wouldn't answer and just repeated the same question back at me. It's like they think they don’t have to explain anything when you ask. Honestly, such a pain.

Honestly, we couldn't tell if that was a weekly or monthly fee because the connection was so poor, the voice was barely audible. Feels like a total scam to me.
