6 yearssome bloke said he was a solicitor ringing about my ppi claim and some complaint. i havent got any ppi or complaints though. to top it off he butchered my name completely. didnt like the way he spoke to me either, got a bit creepy. fed up with these people who talk super fast and get rude when you ask them to slow down or explain properly. hung up on him and blocked the number, bet ill get another call like this tomorrow!6 yearsgot a call from some bloke claiming he was with the FCA about some PPI refund, said I had to send over £150 first to get a cheque worth £3865. told him why dont you just deduct that from the amount and send me whats left. this guy, called stephen wilson, then said another fella named jason spencer would ring me later with more info. like I’m daft enough to believe that, felt like a right mug getting caught up in this covid nonsense.FCAStephen WilsonJason Spencer6 yearsGot a call from a guy named Steven Wilson, who said he was with the FCA. He seemed to be Asian and told me it was about PPI. He asked me to pay £150 so they could send a cheque for £3,580. Sounds dodgy to me.Steven WilsonFCA6 yearsSome bloke named Steven Wilson called me with an Indian accent saying I was getting a PPI payout of £3,590. He said it’d arrive by cheque before 3 August 2020, with a certificate in a yellow envelope. I told him I’m not giving out any info, and if he even had my address, it was pretty dodgy and unprofessional - obviously a scam. He then said I had to pay £150 for tax and fees, claiming he was ringing from the FCA. Right away, I knew it was rubbish because he gave his name as Steven, plus I never made any claim to begin with. What a load of nonsense!Steven WilsonFCASteven6 yearsSo this bloke with a heavy Scottish accent calls up, acting all suspicious. Says I’ve got £3400 due, but I’ve gotta cough up £150 to get it released. Being the nice chap I am, I told him, "Alright mate, I'll make it easy for you - how about £200 upfront, plus an extra £50 for a drink and some grub, and you send over the remaining £3200?" Then the line just went dead. No idea if he’ll ring back or not, but who knows, maybe he will.6 yearsGot a call from an Asian bloke earlier, calling himself Steven Wilson - said I’ve got like £3400 in PPI from a policy that ended back in August last year. Then he asks for £150 upfront to get the money sent to me? He mentioned something about sending a yellow envelope or something. No way it’s legit, pretty sure it’s a total con.Steven Wilson6 yearsSteven Wilson rang me about some payment plan or whatever. When I said there was no way I’m coughing up £150, he just hung up on me straight away, probably thought I was a scammer or something. Weird call all round.Steven Wilson6 yearsI got a call from someone named Steven Wilson who said I had to fork out £150 to the accounts department if I wanted them to unlock my £3400 PPI refund.Steven Wilson6 yearsgot a call on my phone this morning from a guy asking if i was karen. when i asked who was calling, an indian bloke said he was with a financial firm sorting out a ppi claim for me. i told him i’ve never had any ppi claims and he kinda sneered, asking if i even knew what ppi meant. i said yeah, i knew perfectly well and reckoned he was obviously trying to scam me. ended the call straight away and blocked the number.Karen6 yearsI got a call from a number I didn’t recognise, so I picked up. The guy asked if he was speaking to me, then when I asked why he was calling, he said something about a PPI claim that I supposedly made, but I never did. I told him straight I haven’t claimed any PPI, so I don’t trust what he’s saying. Before I ended the call, I said if it’s real, he can send me a cheque. Not sure if it’s a scam or not, but honestly, I just couldn’t take the risk. Hope this helps someone.Submit Your Own Report (01292 280409)
