I've received countless calls from this number.

I received a rather surprising call from this number. The chap on the line stated that he was from Carphone Warehouse and claimed the company has merged with Vodafone, hence the need to upgrade our mobile contract and handset since ours has expired. The thing is, we don’t even have a contract phone at the moment. Naturally, we turned down the offer. He then suggested we ring them back on 08456718558. However, we decided against it, as we’re not keen on calling any premium rate numbers or unfamiliar contacts.

Received a call suggesting it was high time for an upgrade, so we selected a new mobile and switched the delivery address. Our daughter was due for an upgrade as well. The wait was supposedly 3-5 days, yet here we are a month later with still no phone in sight. I rung Vodafone, but they claimed it wasn't their issue. Then I tried Carphone Warehouse, since she had mentioned them, and they said it wasn’t in their hands either. I even attempted to ring the number back, but there’s been no answer whatsoever.
