I just got a phone call with a recorded message claiming £600 had been withdrawn from my account by Visa or MasterCard, telling me to press 1 to deal with it. I hung up straight away, then did the 1471 code and it showed the number 01287 936349.
I checked with my bank and they said it’s a scam that’s been going around.

complete scam!! this pr 19 number called me claiming £600 had been taken off my account without permission and told me to hit 1 to sort it out. seriously, dont press 1! just block the caller straight away. its also a good idea to ring your mobile network and let them know about the scam so they can keep a lookout.

I tried calling back using 1471 to see who it was, but now they've blocked my number. Banks definitely don't send those kinds of automated texts. It's gotta be something fishy.

I just got a voicemail from someone pretending to be visa or mastercard, saying £600 was taken from my bank and to press 1 to sort it out. Saw a post on Facebook about this number. Apparently, they call pretending to be from Mastercard or Visa, saying your account has been compromised. They then tell you to press 1 and connect you to someone who tries to get your personal details. Be careful!
