Got a call from these scammers the other day. I picked up but there was just dead silence on the line before it hung up after a few seconds. From what I’ve read, these crooks use some sort of automated system that rings loads of numbers at once, but it won’t actually connect you to a real person until it hears something from you. It’s really annoying how often this happens now. Most of them seem to be from India and often fake numbers beginning with 012 or 020 show up on my caller ID. Best to never share any details and definitely report them straight to action fraud at action fruad.
