Someone was talking in what I think was really bad English. I asked them to repeat it a couple of times, and even then, I couldn’t make out anything they said. I told them straight up I couldn’t understand, then they just got annoyed and hung up. Lovely!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse. Had a quick look up of the number and it’s actually linked to a bunch of VoIP numbers probably based in Calcutta, India. So there’s no way it’s a legit call. Don’t hand over any details. What I do is confront them and call them out as scammers - watch how quickly they get rude and pushy. They’ll try spooking you by saying they’re controlling your PC and will crash it next time you turn it on, but it’s all just scare tactics to trick you.

I received a rather peculiar call today. The voice on the other end was utterly incomprehensible, almost as if they were mumbling through a mouthful of marbles. In the background, I could faintly hear the sound of someone tapping away at a keypad. Found it all a bit dodgy, so I promptly ended the call and made sure to block the number straight away.

Got a missed call from this place called Syk Solutions in Caernarfon, reckon it’s one of those recruitment firms. When I rang back, some automated voice started talking about marketing calls and how I need to do something if I wanna stop them. Didn’t really pay attention to all of it. Feels dodgy to me, probably a scam. Won’t be picking up next time.

My partner’s phone rang and I ended up picking it up. They never asked for my partner at all, so it felt like they were just fishing to see if someone would bite. The call sounded like it was coming from a call centre in India, so I really doubt it was legit. So, I’d say there’s no way this is a legit call. Don’t share any details with them. What I do is call them out as scammers straight away - their attitude suddenly turns rude and pushy. They might start threatening that they’re controlling your computer and will stop it working next time you switch on, but that’s just their scare tactics to trick you.

Apparently, this phone number is linked to 21a Plymouth Road in Barnt Green, Birmingham, B45 8JF, with the name Stuart Wright attached to it. So now we’ve got a clue where this dodgy caller is based! That explains the large house he’s got - must be from all the scams he’s running on folks!

It’s annoying because I’ve recently filled out forms for my driving licence and a Covid pass, and every time I include my phone number on these forms - which you have to do - I end up getting calls like this.
