The caller claimed they were reaching out to confirm a £600 transaction supposedly processed via my Visa debit card. When I inquired whether it was my card or my husband’s, they assured me it was mine. However, I replied that I hadn’t authorised such a payment. Upon asking the identity of the caller, the line went completely silent. Following this rather unsettling encounter, I contacted my bank.
