Without a doubt, this number is part of a dodgy scam. With my 3 decades in IT, I could tell straight away they wanted to take over my laptop remotely. My advice? Don’t be rude to them, but try to drag out the call for as long as possible. The more time you waste, the less time they’ve got to try and scam someone else. But whatever you do, don’t enter any info or type anything!

I get calls from 01285 numbers almost every day, a couple of times daily actually. Don’t know why since I never pick up, probably sales or some sort of scam. It really grates on me sometimes, especially thinking about how much time they’re wasting. Honestly, they must be daft lol. I only pick up numbers I recognise, and if I’m unsure, I check my contacts and return the call if it’s someone I know. Proper muppets, they are!
