The caller pretends to connect you to BT but this is a trick. The calls usually hit the house line early in the mornings and have been confirmed bogus by BT helpdesk. They recommend blocking the number so it goes straight to junk. Many people find it very annoying as it keeps repeating daily.

I’ve been getting this dodgy call, sounding all robotic, saying something like, “Today’s your final warning; press 1 to speak to BT about the issue or 2 if you want to cut off your internet.” Total scam! I reached out to BT's support team, and they’ve sorted it so that any future calls go straight to the junk folder. Funny enough, it always rings the home line at the same time each morning.
