Got a call from an Asian guy claiming he was from TPS, tried to scam my card details. He already had my name and address, which was creepy. Over the past week, they’ve rung me like 9 times. Honestly, wish there was a way to stop these calls without me having to shell out monthly to Sky for some service! It’s just so annoying now. I even told them off with some choice words, and guess what? They called back the very next day from another number, 01284711660. Proper fed up with this nonsense.

On the 12th and 13th of December, I got about 8 calls from this number. The people on the line said they were with the Telephone Preference Service and asked if they could help reduce our spam calls. They even knew my name and address, which was a bit unsettling. I told them we’re already signed up with the TPS for years and hung up, figuring it was just another annoying sales call. I’ve also had similar calls claiming to be from BT or Microsoft. Not to be rude, but they often sound like they have an Asian accent and can’t say my surname right.

I nearly tripped trying to grab the blasted phone, only for the person - cheers to everyone who helped me figure out who it was! - to just hang up. Talk about annoying! I got a call from a guy who said he could block all my spam calls. He already knew my name, where I lived, and that I’m with BT. Then he told me to grab my debit card and read out all the numbers on it, including the expiry and the little security code. I hung up straight away, but that number has rung me four times since, though I didn’t answer again.

I received a call from an overseas chap who claimed to represent a company that specialises in blocking unwanted calls. Strangely, he rattled off my personal details as if he had them to hand and hinted that he knew something about my banking info-naturally, I wasn't about to validate that! Curious, I queried the price for his service, and he mentioned that there were no ongoing fees. However, when I pushed further, he sheepishly revealed a single charge of £79. He insisted he was ringing from London and assured me it was all above board. I didn't allow the conversation to proceed any further. Watch yourselves out there!
