got a call from an irish lady claiming to be from 02. she kicked off by asking about my data plan, which felt weird since she was supposed to be 02. then she went on to quiz me about the call plans of everyone else living here. seemed a bit fishy to me.

a guy with a kinda southern Irish accent rang me askin if id got my 02 sim in the post. he said my name and my address, but i told him i never ordered any sim from them and just hung up. ive blocked the number since then!

I just had a rather peculiar encounter with a woman claiming to be from O2, my phone provider. She inquired about who my mobile network was, and when I asked her to clarify who she actually was, she insisted that since she represented O2, I ought to know my own provider! It was all very odd, and then she abruptly ended the call. Just a heads-up to everyone out there!

A woman called me inquiring about someone who lived in my house a decade ago. When I explained that there was no such person here, she abruptly ended the call without allowing me the chance to ask her not to reach out again. What’s truly unsettling is that I acquired this number when I moved in; it has never belonged to anyone else since it was originally assigned when Yorkshire Cable launched. I've also been registered with the Telephone Preference Service for so long now, I can’t even recall how many years it’s been!

Got a call from some industrial hearing claims line on a Sunday, which was annoying enough. The girl on the other end was sticking to some boring script, and I had to interrupt her to stop the endless "if you or anyone in your family..." spiel. These firms are total scum, just chasing claims and driving up everyone’s insurance prices. But honestly, I do feel a bit sorry for the young folks doing the calls on a Sunday, likely on low pay and having to bother people who are just not in the mood.

(i might have misheard after checking the comments) they asked if me or my partner had experience working in a factory or the industry. they were quite polite and said bye when i told them no. no hard sell like most sales calls - thats why i didnt label it as “harassment”

When I picked up 01282929980, I could hear a bloke chatting to someone in his workplace. He was saying something like "nobody ever goes there, so he must be telling fibs!" I hung on for a bit, but he kept on yakking and never even acknowledged me, even though I said “hello” right away. Honestly, that’s awful customer service and I’m definitely going to report it to the hearing centre in Burnley. Surely he should be getting fired for that behaviour.

I recognised the name when they inquired about my identity - they responded with "The hearing clinic." How peculiar! When I probed further about the purpose of their call, they stated they would ring back and then abruptly hung up. Quite odd, if you ask me!

Got a call but it was so noisy on their side I couldn’t make out a thing, and the person on the other end couldn’t hear me either. Pretty sure I could claim something for having to work through all that racket!

Got one of those rubbish calls today asking if i’d worked in a noisy place before. Proper annoying, especially cos i was in the loo when the phone rang and had to stop what i was doing to pick up! Surely there should be some rule against these pointless cold calls, and if there isn’t, mr cameron really needs to sort it out and make a law to stop these time-wasters.

They claimed it somehow “came to their attention” that me or my husband used to operate machinery and now have hearing problems. What a load of nonsense.
