I got a call from a company claiming to deal with car accident claims, said they’re from Merseyside (I double checked). But weirdly, the number that showed up on my caller ID was from Buckingham! If they’re faking their phone number like that, it seems pretty dodgy to me - looks like a scam to me.

Got a call from someone saying they were with the MIB about some damage to my car. Thing is, I’ve not driven in almost 4 years, so I knew straight away it was dodgy. The guy sounded English and was really polite, so you could see how it might fool someone into thinking it was legit.

Yet another phone call regarding a 'car crash'. I've been inundated with these, all coming from various numbers, predominantly chaps with Scouse accents. I requested to be removed from their list, and while one fellow was quite contrite, the rest simply disconnected and then rang again the following day from yet another line. It's becoming quite the nuisance!

Got a call on my pay as you go phone from someone saying I’d reported damage on my car. How on earth do they know that? Told them I don’t even drive, and they just quickly ended the call. What a waste of time!

I’ve been receiving persistent calls from this number, and when I requested that they remove my details from their records, they resorted to calling me a derogatory term. Astonishingly, they didn’t stop there-they inundated me with six calls in the space of merely four minutes, further subjecting me to their unpleasantness. I've decided to escalate the matter and have lodged a complaint with the ombudsman.
