Got a dodgy call on my landline claiming BT internet’s about to be cut off. They ring from all sorts of area codes but one, 01230, doesn’t seem valid. Been getting these calls ages, and this morning, number 01688493154 popped up. Turns out it was a real person, sounded Asian, which makes me think the call got rerouted since that code is for Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. I reckon they’re trying to take advantage of the O2 network outage.

Got loads of dodgy calls from someone pretending to be BT on my landline, leaving messages about my internet being cut off. They ring from all sorts of different area codes. One code, 01230, seemed a bit dodgy and didn’t show up in any lookup. This morning I answered a call from 01688493154, and it was actually a bloke on the other end - sounded Asian, which made me wonder if the number's been spoofed since that area code is for Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. Feels like they’re taking advantage of the O2 network problems atm.
