I was approached by someone who wanted me to respond to three queries regarding eligibility for a green energy grant. The bloke claimed his name was Jack Hargreaves and mentioned that I could possibly receive a follow-up call if I met the criteria. He requested my name and postcode to cross-check his registered contacts. To be honest, it all felt rather suspicious.

This afternoon, I received a call concerning solar panels. The caller stated he had three inquiries to determine my eligibility for a grant. After he posed the third question, he moved on to a fourth, at which point I interrupted him, saying he’d already had his turn. He assured me that someone would get back to me with news about my grant eligibility. Lo and behold, a second caller rang and mentioned that another person would be in touch. The only request made during that conversation was that when he arrived, I should "offer the gentleman a glass of water. Is that acceptable?" I found that rather peculiar and chose to hang up the phone.
