Some bloke with a thick accent called me on my mobile, couldn't catch half of what he was saying but he seemed to be pushing a Samsung S21 or summat. Couldnt make much sense of it, so I just blocked the number. Classic scam attempt if you ask me.

Got a call sayin they were from Carphone Warehouse with some O2 offer. Told them Carphone Warehouse don’t do O2 contracts, and then they just started bailing out on what they were saying. Totally a scam, no doubt!

Got a call saying they were from Carphone Warehouse. I told the bloke I’m on the TPS list and he could get fined for ringing me cold. He went on saying TPS had actually allowed him to call! I tried to tell him that’s not how TPS works, but he said he ain’t daft and TPS gave him permission. So I just ended the call.

I received a call from someone who claimed to be associated with the Brentwood Carphone Warehouse. A swift search online showed that this location is no longer in operation. The call quality was dreadful, suggesting it was a VOIP connection from abroad. The caller attempted to guess my phone provider - completely misjudging it - then blamed her system for not displaying my current network. I’ve been with the same provider for over ten years across several devices! She proposed an outrageous offer of a new iPhone for just £35 a month, inclusive of unlimited data, calling, and texting - which I know is far too good to be genuine, as such deals typically cost much more. Additionally, she failed to identify my service provider and couldn't even provide me with my name, which should definitely be on their database. All signs are pointing to a potential scam here.
