Got a call again from this unknown number. Missed it before but answered this time. A woman said she was from the National Census Social Research and politely asked if I’d be happy to do a quick survey. I agreed and completed the short survey. I’d just had a visit from ELSA recently, which is a legit company that does health and memory tests for elderly people. So this number seems to be trustworthy.

Received a call from someone purporting to be affiliated with the Scottish Centre for Social Research. They’re on the hunt for a 'key contact person' connected to the Scottish Government's investigation into 'behaviour in Scottish schools'. This woman has been rather insistent, ringing us at least three times already. The odd thing is, she insists she cannot take incoming calls. It all feels rather dubious; quite the time sink, if you ask me!

I got a letter from a proper research firm called NatCen, saying they're doing a study and they'll be calling me from a 01277 Brentwood number. I've missed their calls so I can't say for definite, but since the letter mentioned that number and then calls came from it, I reckon it's legit. It's definitely a survey, not a scam. Real survey companies never ask for your bank details, they just send rewards like vouchers through the post.
