I received a call regarding alleged tax evasion, but seeing as I’m enjoying my retirement, I found it rather perplexing. The caller went on to make ominous threats about revoking my national insurance number and insisted that I press 1 on my keypad. Naturally, I decided to power down my phone instead! I've consistently fulfilled my tax obligations over the years, so I can’t help but suspect that this was just a ruse.

This morning, I got a call from this number and a woman with a strong Indian accent said she was calling from Carphone Warehouse with some great offer. I told her I don’t even use Carphone Warehouse and asked how she found my number, especially since I’m on the Telephone Preference Service list. She just kept going on about the ‘amazing deal’ she had. I told her straight up it was a scam and when she tried to argue, I just ended the call.

Got two calls today that were a bit dodgy. The first one came from Barrow in Furness, number +44 1229 200016. A guy with a really strong Indian accent was claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, saying they had a better deal than the one I'm currently on. How on earth would they know about my existing plan? Then, later on, I got another ring from Camberley, +44 1276 900024, supposedly the same Carphone Warehouse. But as soon as I picked up, they just hung up on me. Bit odd, if you ask me.
