They told me an engineer would be sent to swap out my router because the copper wiring was being upgraded. Foolishly, I gave them my card details, but when they said the card didn't go through they asked for another one. That’s when I twigged it was dodgy and ended the call straight away. I immediately froze my card and got in touch with my bank. Thankfully, I didn’t lose any money, but it was a harsh wake-up call.4 yearsI got a call from someone saying they were with Virgin Media or Openreach, saying they needed to update the wiring for my broadband. When I asked them for my account number, they couldn’t seem to get it right even though it’s easy to find on my account.
