They’ve rung me two days in a row now, today being Saturday arvo. They somehow know my name and are trying to pitch a contract with a new iPhone. I've told them I’m not interested, but still, they called again today. I've ended up blocking the number. This is happening in the Winchester area.

Got a call from a lady saying she was ringing from Phone House. Before she could explain anything, I asked how they’d got my number. She mumbled something about company records. I told her I’m on the TPS list, and she suddenly got all flustered, didn’t really have a response, then just hung up. I’ve reported the number to TPS now, so let’s see if anything comes of it. Definitely seemed like a scam to me.

Got a call from someone saying they were from The Phone House, but after I rang The Phone House myself, they told me it wasn’t them. Seriously, don’t hand over any info or agree to anything with these people. They’re definitely con artists. I could hear a woman chuckling on the line before the call got cut, like they were having a laugh about what I said. If the offer seems a bit too perfect, it probably is a scam.

Received a call from someone claiming to be from Phone House in Bradford, which matched the caller ID. The chap had a heavy Indian accent and was pushing for me to upgrade my mobile and contract. What struck me as quite odd was that this call was made to a publicly listed business number. I can only assume it's some kind of scam going on.

I didn’t answer since the call showed up as from somewhere in Bradford and I don’t know anyone or any companies there. I usually figure if it’s really something important, they’ll leave a voicemail. Nothing was left. Though, I did get this call and another one from Manchester not long after I put my ad up on Gumtree, about ten minutes later.

Be careful with these calls! There's actually a trio living together making these calls, targeting people who might not be able to protect themselves. Definitely should be reported to the police.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from the Carphone Warehouse Promotion Team. They were pushing a deal that sounded way too good to be real - turns out it was just that, not real at all. I checked with Carphone Warehouse themselves and they said the number isn’t theirs and it’s definitely a scam. Avoid it!

A bloke rang me, said he was from ‘Carphone Warehouse’ and was pushing an iPhone 11 deal. When I asked for proof and he wanted my account info, I got suspicious. Then he passed me to some ‘Manager’ who couldn’t really explain anything and just hung up straight away. Total scam, don’t fall for it!

Absolutely dodgy characters! Best to keep your personal information tightly under wraps and terminate the call immediately. 1) They’re now masquerading as FoneHouse, claiming they can offer you more enticing deals than what you’ve currently got. 2) Expect them to request an upfront fee, spinning a yarn about how you’ll be reimbursed within 48 hours-a promise that is exceedingly unlikely to materialise. 3) To top it all off, they will intentionally dispatch the wrong device instead of the one you initially wanted. If you happen to get ensnared in this scam and they send you a phone, don’t even think about returning it. Hang on to it, and make sure to notify Action Fraud, your network provider, and your bank about the situation.

I made the daft mistake of picking up, only to be greeted by nothing but empty air. Clearly, it was one of those automated dialing systems at play. I've since blocked the number, but I’m sure they’ll just try their luck with another one. The peace has been delightful lately, but, alas, the pesky nuisances have returned! I really ought to follow my own counsel: if the digits aren’t familiar, don’t bother to answer! If it’s genuine, they’ll surely leave a voicemail.

This number has been ringing me quite a few times. The bloke on the line knows my name, which is odd since I’ve never met him. He’s used a bunch of different numbers though, which I’ve started jotting down. Most calls come in the arvo, but he once rang on a Saturday too. I can tell it’s the same person each time and just end the call straight away. It gives me a weird feeling, honestly. I reckon he’s figured out how to spoof the numbers or something.

i'm pretty sure they found my number because i was selling a phone on gumtree. they probably just look up the sellers and then try to push some contract deal on you, like a rio sim or something. they must gather loads of info from folks doing that. and nope, it's defo not from carphone warehouse!

someone phoned me saying they're from car phone ware house or something like that, though I reckon they get the name wrong. it was a lady with an indian or pakistani accent and she didn't really seem to know what she was on about, especially when I had to go over what tps means to a supposed phone company. not sure they even have a clue how to take my number off their list despite me asking them to stop calling (they did it before but called again). i'll just block them myself anyway.
