Got a call from 01274 490587 around half past eight this morning. There was a brief automated message left, something about being linked to a number and a warrant for my arrest. Sounds like a classic scam to me.

Got a call earlier from some automated voice saying it was from hm revenue and customs. They told me I was involved in a tax fraud issue. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

I had an unexpected phone call from a chap who seemed to know my name and wanted to know where I was at that very moment. Apparently, he had come to my house for an energy assessment but had failed to get a response when he knocked. He even mentioned my address which was a bit of a red flag. When I pressed him, he said he was calling from Solar Panel UK, claiming they wanted to conduct a survey of my property. What really got me was his intrusive question about whether I was perhaps in the shower during their visit! The reality is, they didn’t knock at all; I would definitely have known, especially with my dogs going absolutely mental if someone had. This whole interaction left me feeling quite on edge, and I firmly told him to take my details off their list right away. After that, I felt it necessary to ring the authorities for advice.

I got a call from an Asian guy who couldn't give me any of my personal info when I pressed him. I kept asking but all he managed to say was my last name and address. I mean, c’mon, if you know who lives there then answering a basic question shouldn't be a problem. I even told him if I google his number it’ll probably say “scam alert” or something like that. Honestly, people need to stand their ground and insist these jokers provide loads of details about you. If they can’t, then they definitely don’t have the correct info, unlike real companies that you actually deal with.
