My partner got a call but handed the phone over to me since he couldn’t make out what the caller was saying. The person on the line asked if we wanted to extend the warranty on our washing machine, which had just expired. We’ve had the same machine for over 12 years, so I told them we weren’t keen. Oddly, they knew my partner’s name, but since I was the one who actually bought the machine, I’m thinking this was a cheeky attempt to fish for info. Definitely seems like a scam - watch out!

My phone buzzed once and stopped, so I called the number back. A bloke who knew my address started talking about a washing machine, but when I asked which one he meant, he just hung up on me. I called again and got through to a guy named Rob. After checking, he told me they had my info because I filled out an online survey claiming to be linked to ALDI. Rob said he’d send a GDPR request to find out who shared my data and get back to me with the info.

I got a call about my Samsung washing machine saying the warranty had run out and they wanted to sell me a new protection plan that would cover repairs or a replacement if it broke. Thing is, the machine was about 10 years old and I'd already ditched it. They then asked if I owned another Samsung appliance, claiming they just wanted to check I had insurance on it. When I told them I didn’t get it, they just said they were trying to help. By the end, the guy got quite rude and even hung up abruptly. Quite frustrating!

She said she was calling from Homesure about my washing machine, even though the warranty expired ages ago. Then she checked if I still lived at the same address she had noted down. I quickly told her I wasn’t interested and hung up. It was pretty clear she was fishing for my personal info. I’m certain this is a scam. Seems like they’re going after folks who got appliances from government aid programs - I got another call from them about a fridge freezer not long ago.

Some bloke rang me up pretending to be from a company offering to sort out an extended warranty on my washing machine, cause apparently my warranty had run out. Thing is, he knew my name and where I live, but I’ve never actually bought a washing machine or any kind of warranty. They rang me up claiming to be from a home service and said they had some details about my washing machine. When I told them I didn't have any insurance, they turned kinda snarky, saying that's exactly why I should get it with them. I asked if they were trying to scare me or something, and they denied it but insisted I really needed their insurance so I wouldn’t be hit with a big cost later. It felt quite intimidating, and I got pretty annoyed, so I just hung up.

I found it quite funny since I don’t even own a washing machine! Then she asked how I wash my clothes, which felt a bit nosy, so I told her it was none of her business.
