The person on the line asked if we wanted to extend the warranty on our washing machine, which had just expired. We’ve had the same machine for over 12 years, so I told them we weren’t keen. Oddly, they knew my partner’s name, but since I was the one who actually bought the machine, I’m thinking this was a cheeky attempt to fish for info. Definitely seems like a scam - watch out!

I received a call regarding the warranty for my washing machine, and when I mentioned that I was without a stable place to live, they suddenly became quite brusque and disconnected the call. Truth be told, I'm not actually homeless, but I could easily find myself in that situation-it's really unjust that they’re contacting individuals under the guise of warranty services.

I got a call about my Samsung washing machine saying the warranty had run out and they wanted to sell me a new protection plan that would cover repairs or a replacement if it broke. Thing is, the machine was about 10 years old and I'd already ditched it. They then asked if I owned another Samsung appliance, claiming they just wanted to check I had insurance on it. When I told them I didn’t get it, they just said they were trying to help. By the end, the guy got quite rude and even hung up abruptly. Quite frustrating!

I picked up the phone only to be greeted by silence at first. Then, a woman chimed in asking for me by name, claiming to be from Homesure, and said she was calling regarding my washing machine. To be honest, that warranty ran out ages ago! She inquired whether I still resided at the address she had recorded. At that moment, I decided to decline her offer and hung up. Clearly, she was fishing for my personal information. It's obviously a scam. They seem to be zeroing in on folks who received appliances through local charity programmes, as I've had a similar nonsense call about my fridge freezer not long ago.

They rang me up claiming to be from a home service and said they had some details about my washing machine. When I told them I didn't have any insurance, they turned kinda snarky, saying that's exactly why I should get it with them. I asked if they were trying to scare me or something, and they denied it but insisted I really needed their insurance so I wouldn’t be hit with a big cost later. It felt quite intimidating, and I got pretty annoyed, so I just hung up.

I received a rather peculiar call today, 14th April 2023, whilst I was busy at work. It was around half five in the evening. When I answered, the woman on the line informed me that the cover on my washing machine had lapsed. I found that quite amusing, considering I don't even own one! When I mentioned this, she cheekily asked how I manage to clean my laundry. I replied rather tersely that such matters were none of her concern!
