When I mentioned my bank was the “Bank of Paris” (which isn't real), they didn’t notice or question it. They gave me a reference and ID number, claiming they never ask for bank or card info, and that the money would be in some kind of digital wallet. Then they passed me on to another bloke with an Asian accent, who asked for those IDs again, but I gave him fake ones. To be continued...Bank of Paris3 yearsWhat a complete and utter scam! They claimed to have secured a compensation of £2550 plus an additional £1550 interest from my so-called bank. When I told them my bank was "Bank of Paris" - which, by the way, doesn't even exist - they didn't bat an eyelid. They proceeded to issue me a reference number and an ID, insisting they never ask for banking details. Then they mentioned some bizarre cash wallet situation and transferred me to another chap with an accent. He asked for the ID and reference numbers, which I feigned incorrectly; looking puzzled, he requested my phone number to verify. After throwing around a new set of ID and ref numbers that didn't match the first, he claimed I wasn't very tech-savvy and he’d assist me in accessing this wallet. Then he asked me to put my phone on loudspeaker (for what purpose, exactly?), then instructed me to download an app called Anydesk from the play store - which would give him remote access to my phone! What a nefarious trick to harvest personal data, bank info, and passwords! These vile crooks need to be reported and put out of business.
