Got a couple of calls today, and when I picked up, it seemed like it switched to some other call. Heard some noise in the back, but no one actually said a word.

I received two calls this morning, one at 8:45 and another shortly after at 9:55 on the 15th of May, 2023. Neither call was answered. Based on what others have mentioned, it appears to be a complete scammer on the other end of the line.

Got a call from 01275 951098, first on my landline then on my mobile. They kept saying it was my husband’s number but it’s not. They claimed to be from a fraud helpline, but when I called them out for being the fraudsters, they started swearing at me like mad! Ended with them hoping my bank account gets emptied. I later found out their number is listed on half a dozen scam sites. And this all happened on a bank holiday! I joked that scammers don’t take holidays, and got told to f*** off right back. Ridiculous behaviour.

I received a rather dubious call purportedly from the Legal Advice Centre, rather reminiscent of a call I had just two days prior from 01327437811. The caller introduced herself on our BT Premium phone, which I had set up to block unwanted calls. When I inquired about her identity, she alleged that she was affiliated with some sort of "legal advisory firm" and stated she'd been instructed to contact me by the SFO due to previous fraudulent calls aimed at rescuing funds related to timeshares. However, she seemed to have no details about the prior conversation and grew quite dismissive when I pointed out that her spiel was clearly scripted. As with the earlier number, calling back resulted in a single ring followed by the line being cut off, accompanied by an incessant tone. I mustn't forget to probe the next caller on what would ensue if I attempted to return their call.

I received a call from someone claiming they were from the ‘National Crime Unit’. As a former police officer, I pointed out that there’s no such organisation - it’s the National Crime Agency that does that sort of work. The caller became quite flustered and I decided to end the conversation before he could say much more. What an absolute bother!

Apparently, since Hilton has acquired Diamond Resorts, they’re insisting that I’m still bound by the contract, despite having paid to exit it ages ago. They’ve now warned me that I could be charged for years of unpaid membership fees. I haven’t been associated with them for quite some time!

Received a call purporting to be from a government office, supposedly providing legal counsel regarding timeshares. Little did they know, I happen to be a senior civil servant at a legal department myself. When I posed some inquiries, they were utterly stumped. Their attitude took a nosedive the moment they suspected I might escalate the matter. Quite appalling, really.

Another dodgy outfit attempting to cash in on timeshare schemes, it seems! I get these pestering calls multiple times a week from various numbers, and this latest one has only been a single contact so far. My suggestion? Just block the number and steer clear of any calls from numbers you're not familiar with. If it’s a legitimate caller, they'll likely leave a proper message. And while you’re at it, go ahead and block 01524488459 as well. Just another annoyance from a different area!

I received a phone call today from someone purporting to be inquiring about a timeshare agreement. They mentioned they had obtained my number through Diamond. When I informed them that I don’t have any such contract, they abruptly hung up on me! Not only was this an annoyance, but their lack of courtesy was quite shocking!

Today, I received a call on my mobile from a number flagged as potential spam. I chose to ignore it, and shortly after, my landline rang with the very same digits: 01273 951105. I thought it best not to answer yet again. I've previously recorded a message on my landline indicating that I don’t entertain calls from spam or marketing types, advising any genuine callers to leave a message if they're legitimate. Surprise, surprise - no message was left!
