Receiving a menacing legal notice can be quite unsettling, especially for the elderly. It's genuinely alarming for those who might not be as familiar with such matters.

Claiming to be the HMRC and warning of imminent legal proceedings. It's a scam that has been reported in other instances.

Just like the others, this one claims to be from HMRC telling me about some serious legal action. The odd thing is it’s a recorded message that finishes with “have a black day” - sounds way off. If there really was a lawsuit, they’d surely use my actual name and wouldn’t just leave a voicemail. It feels really intimidating and should be blocked urgently.

When I got back home, there was a voicemail from someone named Jennifer Coleman saying there’s some kind of lawsuit against me. She ended the message with ‘have a blessed day’, which felt quite odd. Got a call from 01273 931005, which is a Sussex number, and they left a voicemail pretending to be HMRC. The automated female voice said it was Dennis Grey from HMRC and told me to "get ready." Honestly, I replied in my head, "I'm ready, Dennis, come get me!" But seriously, this is just another scam. Don’t bother calling back - they’re just trying to scare you into handing over cash. It’s definitely not HMRC, and they never contact people like this about taxes.
