Received a rather dodgy phone call earlier from an individual purporting to be from a firm named SKY, chatting on about some insurance related to a boiler. Considering I don’t even possess a boiler, I reckon it’s nothing more than a scam.

Earlier today, around midday, I received a call from the number 01273929956. There wasn’t a word spoken and the line went dead. Not long after that, I got another ring from the same number. The caller claimed to be from Homeshield, informing me that the warranty for my washing machine has lapsed, and I was now eligible for an additional three years of coverage. They mentioned that the original cost was over £100 but they were offering a discounted price of £76. They insisted on taking my payment details immediately. I decided to terminate the call when they wouldn’t allow me to wait for my husband to return from work, as they stated their office closed at 6pm.
