Got a call about an extended warranty on my Hotpoint washing machine. I said I needed to check with my hubby and then they just hung up. Then a week later, they rang back with the same deal. I told them my washer is actually an Ariston, not Hotpoint, but they claimed it’s the same brand. I’ve only been at this address for 3 years and my machine is 12 years old. Apparently, my 2 year warranty is about to expire or something. They’ve called again tonight but I ignored it. Do these lot ever stop?

Got a call from this firm, an 0333 number, trying to sell me extra warranty on my washer. How on earth do they know so much about my appliances? Next time, I'm just gonna mess with them, tell them I don't even own a washing machine and that I wash my clothes by banging them on a stone. Might even ask if they can cover my rock instead. Proper fed up with these annoying calls.

Got a call trying to sell me an extended warranty for appliances, and the bloke got all smug when I said I do my own repairs. He asked if I was an engineer, I said no, but I’ve fixed my own washing machines for years. Then he went on about how I might make things worse and end up paying more. I told him, at least I’d feel better not handing over my info to some random cold caller who’s probably dodgy. Seriously, don’t give these muppets any of your details. Block their number if you can - we need to clamp down on these nuisance calls for good.

Received a call today, 2nd Jan 18. They tried to sell me a warranty for my old dishwasher, but that ran out back in 2015 when I replaced it. They claimed it was a new for old deal - total rip off. Didn’t give them any info even though the guy said they could arrange the warranty with a Direct Debit using a credit card if I didn’t want to give bank details. Not interested at all.

Just got a random call from this number (Service Box) on my phone saying they could sell me an extended warranty for my Samsung washing machine. They claimed I bought it in 2012, which isn’t right. I told them I already had a 5-year warranty for a machine I got in November 2014. They had all my info - name, address, email. Really makes me wonder if Currys or Samsung have passed on my details to them since those are the only ones who’d have that info. Definitely made me suspicious.
