Got a call claiming I'd paid too much on some mortgage or loan and they wanted to send me money back. When they asked where to put the cheque, I said that’s none of their concern. Got a call saying I'd paid too much on my mortgage from about 15 years back. They went on with loads of nonsense trying to throw me off. They had my almost right name and the right address and postcode. Then they asked for my birthday - if they have that much info, they should already know it. Told them to send everything through the post and I’d take a look. Not really expecting anything in the mail though. Honestly, these scammers come up with the wildest stuff.
