I rang them back and told them we had just purchased a brand new machine. I've also reported the whole thing to the police’s fraud unit.

She couldn’t even tell me the exact model of our washer and as it’s secondhand and older than 3 years, I told her I wasn’t interested in any extra warranty. Felt like one of those spammy calls to me.

I reckon any number that I don't recognise can go straight to my voicemail. If it's something crucial, they'll make sure to introduce themselves and drop a number for me to ring back. Those who are aware of me ought to have alternative ways to get in touch. These persistent callers keep trying, but I tend to ignore them; they never leave a message. I don't have any intention of returning their calls.
