I got a call on my landline today from some lot pretending to be Homeserve. They were really pushy, trying hard to get my personal info and the bloke was quite rude and kept hassling me. I refused to share anything and just hung up. Would advise anyone else to do likewise!

You’d think a telecom company would understand the rules about cold calling, but maybe someone’s faking their identity, which is pretty awkward for them.

Got a call this afternoon from a woman claiming to be with Homesure Insurance about some kind of emergency house cover. She was super chill, so I was just waiting for her to slip up and ask for my bank info. For more than two years now, these lot called Home Securities have been constantly ringing me. I just hang up straight away every time, and I’m sure they’re well aware that their endless calls don’t get a response. Yet, they won’t give up. I don’t get how they’re allowed to carry on like this or why no one puts a stop to it. They also seem to use loads of different phone numbers to keep trying.

Got a call from a really nice chap offering home breakdown insurance. I told him I’m not signed up to anything like that, and he was quick to apologise for bothering me.

Today I got a call from a woman who said her name was Claudia and claimed she was calling about renewing my Homesure insurance (which I don’t even have). She said my monthly payment was dropping from £14 to £7 and I needed to update my direct debit because of that. When I mentioned that with direct debits the amounts can change but standing orders stay the same, she just denied it. She also kept insisting it was perfectly safe to share my bank info. In the end, she hung up on me. Before she did, she gave me an 0800 number - 0800 195 4964 - saying it was for claims or something.

Got a ring from some bloke called Scott Mitchell claiming he could slash my Homesure insurance from £11 to £7. The funny thing is, I don’t even have that insurance! He asked for my sort code, not my full bank details, which was weird. I told him to jog on, proper rude git. What a waste of time!

I'm registered with TPS but these calls keep coming to my phone. Not sure how to make them stop. This has to be like the fifth or sixth time now. A rather articulate chap contacted me, claiming that my insurance linked to my residence was on the verge of expiring. I found it quite peculiar, as we don’t actually have a policy through their firm. He insisted that they were indeed the home assurance provider. Watch out! I got a call claiming to be from Homesure about some Home Emergency or Plumbing & Drainage insurance. I told them I didn’t have anything like that, but the woman said she’d double-check with her admin because they showed a 24-month policy for me. Sounds fishy to me, like what others have said - they’re probably trying to trick people who actually have a legit Homeserve policy into handing over their account info. I’ve had loads of calls from both men and women pushing this same scam.

I got a call from a quite polite man who spoke really well, telling me my homesure policy was about to be lowered. He even mentioned the last 4 digits of what he claimed was my bank account. I told him that number wasn’t mine, and when he asked me to give him my full bank details, I refused. Then he just hung up. I looked it up here afterwards and I'm so relieved I did - it’s definitely a scam.

I keep getting calls from Homesure about an insurance policy I never signed up for. this woman called saying she was from home service, said they were gonna lower my monthly bill since we hadn’t made any claims, asked if i was still the owner of the property, had my name and address too, then wanted my mobile number. i asked her what contract she meant, but she claimed she was admin and didn’t have those details. yeah right, total scammer trying to get info!

Called by someone claiming to be from HomeSure about renewing my policy. They mentioned I hadn’t made a claim in over a year and said they could give me a better deal. At one point, they gave me a bank sort code, which seemed dodgy. When I asked for the documents to be sent to me, they said yes, then gave me a customer service number, 080018954, but the call dropped right after. I haven't had a HomeSure policy since December 2013, so be careful with these calls.
