This number keeps ringing our home phone here in LANARKSHIRE, plus they use a bunch of similar numbers to try and trick people. Thankfully, most of us seem to be wise to it now. I never pick up calls from numbers I don't recognise. That said, I reckon all phone companies should be made accountable for these scam calls because without their networks, scammers wouldn't get far. If we ever misused our phone lines, I bet the providers would just cut off our service, just like they'd do if we didn't pay bills. Anyone else think that's fair?

Got a call from someone claiming to be “Domestic Appliance Service” about my washing machine warranty. I asked what model they were talking about, and when they told me, I said I’d already got rid of that machine. That seemed to confuse him a bit, and he just ended the call pretty quickly after saying goodbye.

I’ve reported these lot to action fraud. It’s the classic warranty scam, often from people claiming to be Indian, calling all the time from fake numbers. They say your warranty on stuff like your vacuum, washing machine, or even your Sky box has run out and try to push you into “renewing” it. The goal is to get your bank info and other personal details. Really hope these horrible con artists get caught and face some proper consequences soon.
