I normally reject calls from numbers I don’t recognise, but a call from 01273655164 somehow got through and was blocked after. I checked the number on the Who Called site and turns out it was a scam.

Got a call from someone saying they were Sky, saying my subscription was up for renewal. Thing is, I’ve never even had Sky. I just thanked them and ended the call quickly. Definitely a dodgy call.

Got a call from someone pushing a washing machine scam. They kept going on about how I hadn’t renewed some insurance or warranty deal in the past year, so I could get a discount if I signed up now. I told them straight up that I never had any of that sort of cover in the first place and said I was fed up with dodgy calls like theirs.

I tried ringing this number back and got a message saying it’s not in service, then it asked if I wanted to use the number myself. Seems like whoever called me first might be dodgy.

Got a call from someone sounding like they were from HomeServe but with a bit of an accent. The missus picked up and the person wanted to chat to me. She dodged the question pretty well, and then the caller said they'd give us another ring later on.

Got a call saying my kitchen appliance insurance needed renewing. I told them I don’t even have that insurance, and then they said they needed to double-check their files. What really creeped me out was the fact they already had my address.

Got a call from the exact same number just 29 minutes after the first one. I knew the number straight away, so I just let it go to voicemail. Of course, no message was ever left. What a shocker!

Today around 4.50pm, I got a call from this number. Some foreign bloke called me by the wrong name and claimed he was from Sky. He started chatting about my Sky gear and mentioned that the insurance was about to expire. I was pretty surprised and told him I didn’t even have insurance on it. Then he asked me for my Sky account number, and when I said he should have that info if he was really from Sky, he just ended the call.

Got a bloke on the phone claiming he was making sure our Sky service was all good and asking if we wanted to continue with the insurance cover. I didn’t trust it though, so I told him straight up that my husband deals with the bills. He said he needed to have a word with him and said he’d ring back the next day.

Got a call from some company saying they insure home appliances, trying to get me to renew a policy I never took out. They kept saying they’d cancel my cover if I didn’t, but I’ve never had one with them. They even used my old name and babbled on about GDPR nonsense. When I called them out on it, the bloke just hung up on me. Talk about dodgy!

It’s rather off-putting to receive a call from Sky, attempting to push upgrades and insurance for equipment I haven’t even got. The background chatter of other callers only adds to the chaos! I would’ve thought Sky would hold themselves to a higher standard of professionalism.

I've received several calls this week from this number, which apparently contacted a local council searching for a Mrs Forsyth. They insisted they’d got the wrong digit, but it seems a bit too coincidental, don’t you think?

Regarding the guarantee on our devices, it seems the policies we received were deemed unenforceable, and the manufacturers have instructed them to rectify the situation.

I had a rather suspicious phone call earlier, where the caller mentioned my name and claimed they were reaching out regarding an update on my washing machine warranty. They had the audacity to provide my exact address and requested I verify it. Right away, I felt something was amiss and promptly denied that the address was mine. Honestly, my washing machine is ancient, well over a decade old. So, I really can't fathom why anyone would be calling me about a warranty on it. It definitely appears to be some sort of dodgy scheme aimed at prying personal information from unsuspecting folks for nefarious ends. Best to stay alert, I reckon!

I received a call from someone claiming to represent Services Home Plan, insisting that I'd arranged a policy for my washing machine that I purchased last year (2020, during the pandemic!). The thing is, I never signed up for anything like that. It felt like he was fishing for my full name and address, but I kept my details to myself, and before long, he ended the conversation. Quite peculiar!

I received a call the other day from someone claiming my warranties required updating. They asked for my postcode, so I inquired what postcode they had on file. The thing is, I’ve never lived at that address! When I mentioned this, they requested my current postcode, but I pointed out that if they really had my information, they ought to know it already. At that point, she abruptly hung up on me! How very peculiar!

So, I received a call purportedly from Sky - a service I don't even subscribe to! I ended up rambling away, curious if they were going to provide me with Sky at no cost, so I could enjoy their offerings. The woman on the other end, with a distinct accent, just didn't seem to grasp it. After a bit of back and forth, she finally inquired whether I was a Sky customer, to which I retorted that since she was calling from Sky, I must be, except I couldn’t quite recall where I had stashed my subscription. Then, she wanted to chat with the policyholder, a Mr Christopher - butchered surname and all. I've no clue who this Christopher fellow is; he’s certainly not anyone related to me or in my circle. As a joke, I suggested I could yell his name out of the window and see if anyone in the neighbourhood replied. At that point, she seemed to lose interest. Quite the endurance test!

Received a call from someone insisting I needed to 'extend the insurance on my Sky gear.' They claimed I’d signed up for it back in 2018. I promptly informed them that wasn’t the case and definitely won't be considering it moving forward!

For the past few weeks, my elderly parents have been plagued by nuisance calls from someone purporting to be associated with washing machine warranty services. This individual has been persistently trying to extract personal and banking details from them. Given that my parents don’t even have any such warranties, it was evident from the get-go that this was a scam when they brought it to my attention. Thankfully, they haven't disclosed any sensitive information, and I've taken the necessary step of reporting this to the phone service provider.
