Phone number ☎️ 01273655151 👆 is reported as a persistent and convincing scam targeting UK residents with calls about renewing appliance insurance, often claiming to be from Domestic & General, Apex Assure, or similar bogus companies. Callers frequently know your name and address but provide vague or incorrect policy details and pressure for bank or card information, refusing to send official documents. The calls often feature poor English and end abruptly when challenged. Recipients report recorded messages, silent calls, and aggressive behaviour when asked for proof. The number is linked to unregulated activity and should be blocked immediately. Legitimate insurers do not request payment details unsolicited over the phone. Vigilance is advised: never share personal or financial information and verify any insurance matters directly through official channels.

5 yearsOn the 19th of February 2021, I had a rather dubious call from a chap named 'Harry', representing 'General Insurance'. He asserted that my insurance cover for white goods was on the verge of expiry and needed urgent renewal. When I questioned the legitimacy of the call, suggesting it might be a scam, he hurriedly mentioned that their website operates under the name Apex Assure. After hanging up, I decided to do a bit of digging and checked the FCA register, only to discover a warning against Apex Assure for carrying out regulated activities without the necessary FCA authorisation. Quite concerning, to say the least!HarryGeneral InsuranceApex Assure5 yearsThey kept ringing about some appliance insurance, sounded pretty legit but was total scam. Was super pushy too. Best thing I did was just hang up and block the number straight away.5 yearsWhen I picked up the call, there was nobody on the other end.5 yearsThe recorded message ended abruptly. Definitely a scam.5 yearsGot a call from someone saying I needed to "extend" the coverage on my kitchen gadgets, but I knew it was a scam straight away.5 yearsGot a call from some bloke who said his name was Hashish, told me my washing machine warranty had expired. He spoke really badly and said, "I want your card and bank details to renew your cover." I asked how much it would cost, but he just kept insisting on my full card number. Then he went on about some travel voucher to Bangladesh for new customers. I wasn’t having any of it and told him to shove off.HashishIndiaBangladesh5 yearsTotal fraud!5 yearsThis bloke told me he was from Sky, trying to get me to renew my contract. I wasn’t buying it though. When I called him out, he got all nervous and just cut me off. Total rubbish!Sky5 yearsDON'T FALL FOR THIS! THIS CALL DOES NOT COME FROM DOMESTIC & GENERAL. IT'S A TRICK TO STEAL YOUR BANK OR CARD INFO. THEY ALREADY HAVE YOUR NAME AND POSTCODE AND MAY EVEN GUESS WHAT APPLIANCES YOU OWN TO SEEM LEGIT. THEN THEY'LL TRY TO GET YOU TO CONFIRM YOUR PAYMENT DETAILS - WHICH YOU SHOULDN'T BE DOING IF YOU'RE JUST RENEWING. NEVER HAND OVER PAYMENT INFO ON A PHONE CALL!5 yearsGot a call from this number earlier today, but thanks to our BT Call Blocker, and since the number wasn’t saved in our contacts, the phone never actually rung. The caller didn’t bother to identify themselves, so we couldn’t decide if we wanted to answer. After reading all the other reviews, we’re just gonna put this number straight on the block list.5 yearsGot a call from a woman who said she was a “manager” at Domestic and General Insurance, offering some kind of renewal deal. She couldn’t give me the right renewal dates or even seem to know the brands I use. When I asked for more info, she just hung up. The caller sounded Asian to me.Domestic and General Insurance5 yearsI just ended the call as soon as I picked up.5 yearsI got a call on my home phone from someone saying they were calling from Domestic & General. They told me my appliances needed renewing and offered a three-year plan with a discount. I only have my cooker insured with them, and I knew the renewal wasn’t due until October 2021. When I asked for paperwork to be posted to me, the person suddenly became rude and threatened to send a cancellation letter instead. Watch out for these callers - they don’t want to send any proper documents because they’re probably after your bank info.Domestic & General5 yearsCaught the last bit of some automated call and I figured right away it was dodgy. Definitely seemed like a scam to me.5 yearsSo, our phone has a security setup that requires callers to give their name first. This bloke said his name was Joseph, but honestly, if he was from a proper company, he’d say his name and the firm he’s with. Didn’t buy it for a second. Ended up sending the call straight to voicemail and blocked the number.Joseph5 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be Sky, trying to push insurance on me and asking for my bank info.
