Joe phoned me for the first time yesterday, so I jotted down his number. When I rang back, no answer - just dead silence. He was pushing me to renew insurance on my fridge, washing machine and cooker. Said he was with DOMESTIC INSURANCE, supposedly the renewal side of Domestic & General. We had D&G cover years ago, but it ended ages back. Joe insisted my policy was due for renewal TODAY and dangled a 35% discount, making it £219. I told him I’d double check with D&G - he gave me a number (01977 594365) that seemed fishy. Was tempted to ring D&G through their official site, but decided against it. Then Joe called again today, still trying to get me to sign up before some deadline. I cut him off quick and stumbled on this site. Take it from me and others here - be wary!

I got a call from a bloke who said his name was James. He somehow knew my name and even my full address, then started talking about renewing insurance for my fridge, washing machine and cooker. When I asked which brands the policy covered, he couldn’t give me any details. Then he wanted me to pay £219 for a yearly cover. I told him I wasn’t interested and asked for the contact details of his company, which he claimed was "Domestic Insurance". He couldn’t provide an email or a proper phone number, just told me to ring 03332008989 instead. Definitely a SCAM, don’t fall for it!

Got a call from 01273 655137 today - some bloke claiming to be from "Domestic Appliances" wanting to renew my kitchen appliance warranties. When I asked which ones, he said my washing machine and fridge freezer. Thing is, he had no idea who made them or where I bought them from. Seemed dodgy to me. Told him to jog on and blocked the number straight away.

When I asked what brands they were, the caller couldn’t give me any details. They did know my name tho. Said they’d call back but never did. These cheeky calls are getting way too common now, so just be careful and don’t trust every call you get.

Some bloke ringed me saying he was calling about the warranty for my household appliances. I knew it was dodgy straight away since I’ve never bothered with any insurance or warranty for them. When I asked for the brand, he said it was Hotpoint, but I told him that wasn’t right and requested the model number, which he couldn’t give me. Funny that, eh?
