3 yearsI wouldn’t put my faith in that chap with the Indian accent. He rang me yesterday, purporting to be from British Telecom, and insisted that someone was misusing my phone line. The call kicks off with a recorded message in really poor English claiming my phone line was involved in illegal activity and telling me to press 1 or 2. No matter what I pressed, it put me through to a bloke who rambled some scripted nonsense, saying it wasn’t my fault and blaming some made-up hackers. They even tried to "prove" things by making me run some Netstat command. In the end, they wanted to access my computer remotely to nick my personal and bank details.
