I find it strange because hmrc already has my email and other contact details, yet they haven’t sent me any emails. Also, they wouldn’t call and threaten you with some kind of automated message, that’s not how they operate.

WATCH OUT, TOTAL SCAM! I got a call like this once, some bloke with a strong Indian accent said I had a warrant out because of unpaid taxes. They tried to scare me into paying over the phone or even asked for payments via iTunes gift cards! This is 100% NOT the real HMRC. Stay clear and don’t fall for it!
