I got a call about some extended warranty on my washing machine, claiming I could renew it for just £76. When I mentioned the brand I had was actually different, she didn’t even bother to correct me. Then she wanted my card details, but I told her I couldn’t seem to find them. She said she’d ring back - and when she does, she’ll get an earful from me. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.

I've been getting calls from this number quite a bit. Every time I pick up, there's just silence on the other end and then they just cut off. So, I've just gone ahead and blocked it now.

Got a few calls saying my washing machine service deal had ended. When I asked who was calling, they said Home Shield Direct. I asked if I had a contract with them (which I definitely don’t) and they started going on about how they partner with top brands and take over after the manufacturer’s warranty finishes. I told them my machine’s still under the 5-year extended warranty from the maker, as it’s less than a year old. Definitely just a cold call trying to con folks into buying a service plan. Pretty dodgy behaviour!

On 18th May 2018, around 3.23 pm, I got a call from 01273033010. No-one picked up when I answered, but the voicemail they left was bizarre! They sang something like “One, two, three, four times, not sure what your girlfriend’s for.” It was really odd, and nothing to do with washing machines or anything normal. Definitely the strangest voicemail I’ve ever heard!

Got a call from a cheerful lady named Maisie trying to talk me into renewing some washing machine contract I never even signed up for. Told her I don't have any contract and asked to take me off their list. She said she would, but we’ll see if they stick to it. Just another scam, but with a new number. Honestly, being on the TPS feels pointless, something really needs to be done about these persistent nuisance calls!

Got a call from some company the last two days, both times asking for my missus. I asked what it was about and some muppet called Charlie said it had something to do with our washing machine. I knew straight away it was a scam, so I told him in no uncertain terms to get lost. Being ex-directory, I’m well fed up with these dodgy calls. When he rang again today, I gave him the same message. Absolutely ridiculous!

Got a call about some kind of washing machine insurance, which seemed odd. When I tried calling back on 01273033010 (coming from 1471), I just got a recorded voice saying, “You’ve reached hainsfield direct,” but I couldn’t find any info on that company anywhere. Spoke to some bloke called "Harry Scott" who said they weren't scamming elderly folks, but this cold calling nonsense and sharing private info without explainin is just dodgy and probably breaks section 11 of the DPA. I’m on the TPS list and they kept ringin anyway, so I’ve just put in complaints with both the TPS and the ICO.

Got a call on my 84-year-old mum’s number which is on the TPS register - some washing machine warranty scam. I grabbed the phone and spoke to the bloke, but he just shrugged it off like, “I’m only doing me job,” not realising he was part of a dodgy outfit trying to rip folks off.
