Received a call at 6:36 in the morning and it certainly jolted us out of our slumber!

It was Greenpeace, kept ringing me over and over even tho I said no thanks to donating.

They ring me at all sorts of crazy hours every day. I don’t pick up since I’ve no clue who they are.

I received five calls from this number today. I keep my phone on silent most of the time, so I didn't answer any of them. Oddly enough, they didn’t leave a message either.

Received a rather peculiar phone call around 8 o'clock this evening from a rather posh lady who introduced herself as Harriet Earl (or something like that). She had that unmistakably cultured accent and claimed to be a ‘modest fundraiser for Greenpeace.’ This woman quizzed me about my motives for signing a petition concerning whale conservation. She rattled off an impressive array of statistics to highlight Greenpeace’s achievements before attempting to persuade me to commit to a monthly donation of £10. My instincts kicked in when she boldly requested my bank account details-specifically my sort code and account number. I told her I’d prefer to manage the donation online myself instead. She outright questioned if my hesitation stemmed from discomfort about sharing financial information over the phone! Then she proceeded to see if she could confirm my email address or whether I was open to future text messages. Though I praised her for the commendable work Greenpeace is undertaking, I must admit they’ve lost a supporter today, and I don’t intend to sign any further petitions! I only picked up the call because we’ve experienced a recent bereavement in the family and I noticed it was a local Brighton number; however, I’ve missed six other calls from this same number since July. If this really is Greenpeace, I can’t fathom why they’d resort to such pushy tactics contrary to their stated fundraising principles. It’s quite disheartening, and I suspect they risk alienating far more supporters than they attract.

I didn't pick up because I had no clue who was on the other end and I don't have any acquaintances in the Brighton region. After a bit of online digging, I discovered I wasn’t the only one who felt this way. I've now added this number to my block list.

I received a call at precisely 14:20 on the 28th of August, 2022, from a woman whom I believe had a Scottish accent. She claimed to be with Greenpeace and was inquiring about speaking with the owner of the phone number. I explained that I couldn't communicate on his behalf without his consent. After a brief chat with him, he allowed her to converse with me. However, just as things were getting underway, she mentioned that her computer had crashed and she'd have to ring back another time. I pointed out that she must have an idea of the nature of the call, to which she abruptly ended the call. Naturally, I decided to BLOCK the number. Seems a bit dodgy to me, love, especially when there’s no clarity on the matter!

I've received a flurry of calls from this particular number. Strangely enough, every time I pick up, the caller hangs up immediately. It's quite perplexing, to say the least!

One has to wonder why they don’t target those affluent politicians in Westminster, who are likely splashing out on extravagant bottles of wine for their clandestine gatherings. Wouldn’t it be refreshing to see them seek contributions from those who are living it up, rather than asking us everyday folks to chip in? Just a thought!

I've had this number ring me twice in the last fortnight. On the first occasion, a mate of mine picked up and said the caller wanted a word with me, so he handed it over. The second time, I decided to ignore the call completely. I can't fathom how they even got hold of my name though!

Sounds like it's a charity fundraiser linked to Greenpeace. I think I signed a petition about saving bees or something like that. They called me last week too, asking for a monthly donation. I told them I wouldn’t give anything over the phone and would only donate if I went through their website myself. Could be a scam as well, so I’m just ignoring their calls now.

I've been getting quite a bit of unwanted hassle from the number 01273 031838.

I didn’t pick up the phone but from what I’ve seen in other comments it seems like it might be someone ringing for Greenpeace. I did sign a petition not long ago so that could explain it. I usually just ignore numbers I don’t recognise.

They claimed to be from Greenpeace because I apparently signed a petition. Asked me two times for donations, one for a campaign, the other for membership. Told them I'd rather donate through their site and asked to take my number off their list, then the bloke just ended the call. If it's really Greenpeace, they seriously need some better phone manners. Best to avoid giving out any money or personal info on calls, plenty of other ways to help this charity.

Got a call from a woman named Sara Haynes from Greenpeace, thanking me for signing some petition. I told her I couldnt recall signing anything, and she said it was from last year. I mentioned my memory’s not great, so she said she was just calling to say thanks. I said cheers and hung up, but kinda felt she was maybe expecting more from me.

Watch out tho. These scammers prolly know this number and might pretend to be it to trick you into sending cash. The charity is legit tho. If you wanna donate, better do it through their official site and claim gift aid.

After seeing the comments here, I called back using 1471 from my landline and it turned out to be Greenpeace, saying they had called about one of their campaigns. So it looks like this is a campaign-related number, but since I rang from a different phone, they wouldn’t have known they already contacted me. I usually don’t donate to unknown appeals, no matter how legit they sound. Overall, I found the call quite irritating and borderline harassing.

i saw this incoming call but didnt catch the ring. though in the last couple weeks i got a call from another number [07538 828614] that only rang a few times before hanging up. ive recently signed up for a greenpeace petition and noticed these calls started after that. thinking of sending them a warning email 🙁 or maybe just blocking those numbers.

Today, on the 18th of February 2022, I received a rather unexpected call from someone claiming I had signed a petition. Quite frankly, I never share my phone number when I sign these sorts of things - only my email. The conversation took a turn when they asked if I would consider donating £10 a month. At that point, I got a bit wary and politely declined their offer. I have a firm rule: if I get a surprise call asking for money, my instinct is to remain sceptical. It's an absolute no-go for me!

I've gone ahead and blocked them, and I’ve decided that I won’t be supporting any more of their petitions. It seems they’re just using it as a sneaky way to collect phone numbers.

Upon ringing the number again, I discovered it was associated with Greenpeace.
