Like a few others have said, they called and asked for me by name and promised it would only be a quick chat. Funny enough, the call got dropped right after that, so yeah, it really was a quick one. The weird part is, I don't even own a house or a washing machine, so they’ve clearly just grabbed my details from some random list.

Got a call out of the blue telling me my yearly washing machine cover was up for renewal, supposedly from a firm called General Household. They said it was £65 and covers a yearly service as part of the breakdown cover. I told them I never got any free service before, and they claimed that was because it was handled by the manufacturer then. They gave me a number to ring back: 01273 286 216. Just a heads up, you shouldn’t be getting a renewal call without being told beforehand about the deadline.
