5 yearsI've come across a rather dodgy scheme regarding appliance insurance. It seems they’ve somehow got hold of my bank details, which is quite concerning. They’re now trying to trick me into confirming my information. It’s definitely not right!5 yearsHome Appliance Scam Alert 13/9/2021 Here we go again with the washing machine insurance con! I received another cold call today from Brighton, the number was 01273 004984. They rattled on, as per usual, about how I’d supposedly been a valued customer for “a fair few years” and that my “policy had recently lapsed and needed immediate renewal.” When pressed, I only “confirmed” details about appliances that were entirely made up! The voices on the line were quite muffled, so I couldn’t catch the names of the individuals, one seemed to be a woman and the other a bloke. Their pitch was that they needed to “verify my bank details” to send over the renewal paperwork. Funny thing is, despite their insistence that they’d been taking payments for a policy that doesn't exist, they clearly had no idea about my bank details. For kicks, I kept probing them on how they supposedly managed to take these phantom payments, but all I got in response was a lengthy spiel about their offer, and a laughable claim that no money would be debited for two weeks. After five roundabouts of this nonsense, my patience wore thin and I snapped, telling him to “Shut the **** up whilst I’m trying to talk.” At that point, the caller hung up on me.Home Appliance Scam AlertBrighton5 yearsIt seems I've had yet another call supposedly from Domestic Appliances - it’s becoming rather tiresome, to say the least. What a right bother!5 yearsReceived a call from this number earlier today. I instructed him to remove me from his contact list. I couldn't help but notice he was clearly reading from a script - it was painfully obvious! 😡😡😡 I firmly told him to leave me alone.5 yearsReceived a call, but there was nothing on the other end - just silence! Strange, isn't it?5 yearsI was subjected to the same old nonsense about a fictitious policy that was supposedly on the verge of expiry, promising me a brilliant deal if I renewed it. I found myself nodding along to all the drivel, only to be asked if I could provide a bank statement for some particulars. At that juncture, I firmly declined and pointed out that he wasn’t requesting my account number, merely details from the statement. My patience was waning, so I suggested he just send the information via post. Once again, he probed me on my refusal. At that point, I didn’t mince my words and bluntly told him to shove off.Submit Your Own Report (01273 004984)
